EMOÇÃO NO ENSINO/APRENDIZAGEM DE LÍNGUAS- aragão
Emotioning
RELAÇÕES DE PODER E RELAÇOES DE AMOR: Emotions create the systemic relational dynamics which conserve them, and a change of emotion entails a basic shift in the systemic relational dynamics of the participants. Different emotions entail different relational behaviors. Let us see two examples: power relations and love relations. It is apparent from what we have said, that the emotion of love is realized in the relational behavior of the lover only, as the loved one arises as a legitimate other through the behavior of the lover without necessarily being an active participant in a loving or any other relation with the lover. Because of this love is intrinsically unidirectional, and liberates - that is love lets the other be even in the act of separation. Power, on the other hand, is bi-directional as it takes place in a relation of domination and submission that entails self negation of both participants. The one that dominates negates him or herself as an autonomous being by acting as if his or her superiority were intrinsic to him or her, and the one that submits negates him or herself in the act of submission. Relations of power create resentment. Love, as it operates in self-respect and self-acceptance, brings with itself well being
The emotion we find ourselves in at any instant creates the relational conditions which conserve that emotion through penetrating all our doings at that instant. However, the emotion we are in may change when some inter-current circumstance, which may be a reflection, triggers a shift in the flow of our relational dynamics (see Appendix 10, for further reflections on love).
In the Western patriarchal culture that we presently live, mistrust is the central mood that guides our relations, and control is the grounding action of our daily living in a linear, non-systemic, thinking of cause and effect. But local linear thinking, when lived as the basic manner of thinking, destroys systemic understanding, separating us from daily living because we no longer fully grasp the systemic coherences of the world we live through living it in its daily coherences. And we have to learn the systemic coherences of the world that we live by explaining them. As we live mostly in explanations, we think that we learn the systemic coherences of our domain of existence as we explain them with the secret hope of opening dimensions for their manipulation and control. In the domain of human relations this has disruptive consequences because it destroys the multidimensionality of the other by separating us from the systemic coherences present in the immediacy of daily life by breaking it into different steps of control. Such manner of living destroys or negates the biology of love
We human animals no doubt have the genetic constitution that permits us to develop, to live, and to culturally conserve arrogance and aggression as a manner of living, so that the whole world that we live becomes transformed accordingly, but it was not arrogance and aggression that defined the evolutionary trend that gave origin to us human beings. Love was the emotion that from the beginning constituted the core of the manner of living that defined our lineage. Yes, arrogance, aggression, greediness, violence, abuse, mistrust, indifference, and so forth can be culturally cultivated as manners of living, and give rise to a new Homo sapiens lineage, as well as to the world congruent with it that that manner of living generates. Indeed, any manner of living that does not kill the Homo sapiens being that we are before it is systemically reproduced through being lived by its children, can give origin to a new culture and to a new biological lineage.
How does the biology of love in our realization as human beings expand our understanding of our inclusion in the biosphere and cosmos, whereas patriarchal causal linear local thinking under the desire for control and domination limits it?
Anna Sfard The aquisition metaohor and the participation metaphor Indeed, metaphors are the most primitive, most elusive, and yet amazingly informative objects of analysis. Their special power stems from the fact that they often cross the borders between the spontaneous and the scientific, between the intuitive and the formal. They enable conceptual osmosis between everyday and scientific discourses, letting out primary intuition shape scientific ideas. According to Scheffler (1991), The line, even in Science between serious theory and metaphor is a thin- one. If it can be drawn at all. There is no obvious point at which we may say: " Here the metaphors stop and theorins begin (p. 45). P. 3 The choice of the metaphor is a highly consequetional decision. Different metaphors may lead to diferente ways of thinking and to different activities. We may say, therefore, that we live by the metaphors we use. It is also noteworthy that metaphors are a double-edgd sword: On one hand, as a basic mechanism behind any conceptualization, they are what makes our abstract ( and scientific) thinking possible, on the other hand, they keep human imagination within the confines of our former experience and conceptions. I will try to show how too great a devotion to one particular metaphor and rejection of all the others can lead to theoritical distortions nd to underisable practical consequences. Both of these metaphors are simultaneously presente in most recent texts, but while the acquisition metaphor is likely to be more prominent in older writings, more recent studies are often dominated by the participant metaphor. Acquisitin Metaphor Since the dawn of civilization, human Learning is conceived of as an aquisition of something. Concepts are to be understood as basic units of knowledge that can be accumulated, gradually refined, and combined to form ever richer cognitive structures. The language of knowledge acquisition and concept development makes us thing about the human mind as a container to be filled with certain materials and bout the learner as becoming an owner of these materials. The idea of learning as gaining possession over some commodity has persisted in a wide spectrum of framework, from moderate to radical constructivism and then to interactionism and sociocultural theories.. The participation Metaphor In the image of learning that emerges from this linguistic turn, the permanence of having gives way to the constant flux of doing. The set of new key words that, along with he noun, practice, prominently features the terms discourse and communication suggsts that the learner should be viewed as a person interested in participation in certain kinds of activities rather than in accumulating private possessions [...] Learning a subject is now conceived of as a process of becoming a member of a certain Community. This entails, above all, the ability to communicate in the language of this Community and act according to its particular norms. From a lone entrepreneur, the learner turns into an integral part of a team. Just as different organs combine to form a living body, so do learners contribute to he existence and functioning of a Community of practitioners. revalorizar la vida por su valor intrínseco y no por su valor mercantil, instrumental
